Kuolema is a Finnish early-1980s crust-punk band known for extremely short, ferocious tracks mixing crust, grind and noisecore. Their period recordings were compiled on Noise Not Music (1997).

Participated in the compilation "Hardcore '83" for Propaganda Records; produced one limited-edition demo tape for Propaganda. The compilation Noise Not Music was released by Alternative Action in 1997 and collects 36 tracks recorded in 1983–1984 (total ~34 minutes). Lineup mentioned in the review: Walde (guitar, later part of Terveet Kädet; died accidentally in 1984), Makinen (guitar, later replacement), Juki (bass), Weke (drums) and Ile (vocals). The recordings are described as raw, frenetic and possessing a noisecore/proto-grind character.

Kuolema is presented as a Finnish '80s crust-punk legend. The 1997 compilation Noise Not Music (Alternative Action) gathers 36 tracks recorded in 1983–1984 into about 34 minutes of frenetic, noisecore-tinged proto-grind. Recordings are raw and poorly produced, which the reviewer reads as increasing the music's disorienting, violent character. The band had very limited original releases (a compilation appearance and a demo for Propaganda Records).
