Kreator, now an institution in the German and global thrash metal scene, released "Terrible Certainty" in 1987; the lineup includes the good Petrozza on vocals and guitar, Tritze on the other guitar, Ventor (whose improvements are noticeable compared to the previous "Pleasure To Kill") on drums, and Rob on bass.
First of all, it must be said that this CD is pure thrash metal, so if you don't like this genre, you will hardly fully appreciate the violence and beauty of this record; if, on the other hand, you (like me) are thrashers supporters and enthusiasts, then you will find yourself headbanging without even realizing it.
The songs all maintain good levels: among others, the initial "Blind Faith" stands out (accompanied by lyrics about Romans sending Christians to death in the arenas) introduced by a drum intro from Ventor, the title-track, "Toxic Trace", perhaps the best of the entire CD along with "Terrible Certainty" and "No Escape" and "Behind The Mirror", which also had a single released.
Definitely not the best from the group (if you're looking for the best, get "Extreme Aggression"), but it's truly a good record.
The remastered version also includes five bonus tracks, the first five songs from the EP "Out Of The Dark… Into The Light": "Impossible To Cure", "Lambs To Slaughter", and live versions of "Terrible Certainty", the fantastic "Riot Of Violence", and "Awakening Of The Gods".
