THE REVIEW

We are talking about Kreator, the worthy standard-bearers of Teutonic and European thrash metal in general, who have given us a lot of emotions since their beginnings with their excellent debut "Endless Pain" and with the historic and brutal "Pleasure To Kill" where they put their anger and immense energy in black and white with shocking lyrics and music for the time.

The album under consideration dates back to 1989 and is the fourth album born from the diabolical mind of Mille and co. It can easily be considered a pillar of thrash, one of the best from Kreator, in short a true gem (ah I bet they'll make this sentence bold!). In this (master)piece, the rage of the four takes a different form from its predecessors because here it takes a more technical, intelligent, and precise form with rhythms and riffs that are always very engaging, a huge step forward for the band. Perhaps the combo will still refer a little bit to Slayer but it doesn't matter because there are also excellent Kreator-style ideas!

The line-up consists of Mille on guitar and vocals, which in this album is really angry; on bass there's Rob Fioretti; the other guitar is Trize who does an excellent job; behind the drums is the legendary Reil who seems to have improved technically with good tempo changes. The opener is the powerful title track that overwhelms us without leaving us a chance, giving an excellent impression right away. It continues with the legendary "No Reason To Exist", in my opinion, the best on the album with lyrics worthy of merit. Right after that, there's the granite "Love Or Hate Us" where Petrozza explains his thoughts about the group's detractors. Then we arrive at "Stream Of Consciousness" which starts slow then bursts into a fast and obsessive riffing, also excellent. A note must also be made of "Some Pain Will Last" which very well expresses hate and suffering with a slow and heavy riff. Also noteworthy is the powerful and devastating "Betrayer" that exudes energy from every pore! Another gem is the beautiful one where an alternation of anger and suffering is glimpsed and magnificently expressed by the lyrics. "Bringer Of Torture" is a nice song about the misfortune of a girl with a brutal life that suppresses her emotions. It closes with "Fatal Energy" which features excellent solos and a powerful and compact riffing.

In short, it is absolutely a must-have at all costs!!! Another point in favor of this album is the excellent production.
