Some time ago I was browsing the internet and visiting the site of Cradle of Filth... who are my idols... and on their webpage there is a link that leads to the Evolution Fest site, which features several bands... including Korpiklaani... among all the people I know, I'm the only one who knows this Finnish band... what can I say... throughout the album, the accordion, violins... the electric guitars, bass, and drums are almost in the background...
The album opens with their "Cottage And Saunas"... after a nice intro in the style of Finntroll, the six musicians leave room for distortion with a sharp voice taking the lead. The second track is very different from the first, with the drums opening and immediately introducing violins, "Jurney Man" has a stronger flavor than the first. For those who love melody, I recommend skipping to track 3, "Field In Flames". Melodic even though it has a sharp riff. "Pin Woods" is also beautiful. Opened by the sound of a flute, it continues with a structure similar to the previous tracks: a calm intro followed by a rather strong sequence. It's an instrumental track, and in the middle, it allows space for a well-done yet simple percussion solo. In my opinion, the most unique on the album is "Spirit Of The Forest", which offers a less sharp voice than usual, and even the calm melody is more noticeable. Beautiful.
"Native Land", also calm at the intro and full of distortion immediately after, maintains an extremely calm violin loop in the background that gives the song a certain charm. The voice is emotional... and finally here is my favorite "Hunting Song". 3 minutes of energy that leaves a lot of joy... watching the video of this song, which I downloaded from their official site, I smile seeing them play... stunning song!! not too great "Ryyppajast" either and worth noting. Now we come to another single from the album "Beer Beer", an anthem to beer that Korpiklaani, being true metallers, praise. This one is also pleasant. And here is the most melodic track on the album "Old Tale"... beautiful. A journey beyond the album that brings medieval dances to mind... creates a perfect atmosphere to relax. We have arrived at the closing track of the album. "Kadet Siipina" closes the album with a very melodic atmosphere accompanied by the unique and peculiar voice of the group's vocalist Jonne. Fantastic!!!
