Oh how beautiful and diverse is that musical genre called metal.
Oh how beautiful and festive is Folk metal.
Oh how beautiful is "Tales along this road".
I don't know who has never listened to Korpiklaani "The clan of the forest", but I will convince you to listen to a few seconds of this beloved band. The world wouldn't be the same if there weren't unserious people, like those who always want to throw huge parties, on buses, in the streets, but especially in the breweries. Yes, because this "Tales along this road" could be the soundtrack of your evenings in the brewpub in the company of your closest friends.
"Happy little Boozer" for example, the first track: put in the classic metal instruments, the most used ones, bass guitars and drums, add in a fantastic leading accordion, an accompanying flute and a sharp and compelling voice, and there you have been infected by the Finnish "beer pogo". You won't be able to get enough of this song, you will sing and sing the chorus thousands of times. "Midsummer Night" another Nordic pub piece, it won't stop making you jump, these first two pieces have been meticulously crafted, everything is perfect. Less festive is "Tuli Kokko", a track paced slower than the previous ones, but still well done, where you can enjoy a small splash of heavy metal with the usual festive accordion. A beautiful instrumental piece is "Spring Dance" where a true beer-metal dance opens up. Then we move on to the highly infectious "Under the Sun" complete with an ear catchy chorus to follow, to sing and sing.
"Korpiklaani" is the track that most takes us back to their origins, a band that previously had a good heavy metal root combined with their current (and pure) folk-metal. "Rise" doesn't upset anyone, in fact, it can be defined as the festive anthem of the cd, accordion and co. make this cd a true musical party. The equally festive "Kirki" & "Hide your Richess" close it out. I conclude by saying that it is truly a cd to listen to, both for longtime fans or for those who might have the curiosity to listen to it. It is truly an excellent cd, highly recommended.
I can't even imagine Korpiklaani on the tour bus... what a mess! And meanwhile, the driver curses. Let the Korpiklaani pub open!
