THE REVIEW

If you think that Fedez and Fibra are sellouts, that Italians can only make pizza, play the mandolin, eat spaghetti, and not much else, certainly not rap, this new album by KKY will change your mind. What emerges from listening to the Roman rapper is a strong maturation in terms of lyrics and content, with instrumentals tailored to KKY's attitude, who switches from the smooth yet incisive sound of tracks like "The Young Are Outdated," "Work, (Therefore) I Am Poor," and "Everything for Us and Nothing for Others," true lyrical journeys, to potential hits such as 'God, Country, and Blowjobs,' "It Is Not Mandatory to Be Happy," "PANEM &T CIRCENSES," and "Envy Is a Beautiful Thing." It's especially worth appreciating the semantics used by KKY in the tracks, where we find more serious themes than one might imagine. Nonetheless, there are free verses dedicated to technical skills and wordplay that are never banal.
