Four classmates after school decide to start a band, beginning with covers of Nirvana and Silverchair, ending up opening for Slipknot concerts with songs that have little to do with the covers they used to have so much fun with in the past.
They are Kittie, a band that manages to stand out in the scene vulgarly called "Nu-Metal." At first glance, they might fall under the label of "Riot-Girls," but it’s not so. You won’t hear them scream or distort guitars, there’s only room for growls and ruthless guitars.
"Spit" is their debut album released in 1999, an album that every time you hear it gives an effect... umm... how to say... as if someone were beating you up:
1-spit is the headbutt in the mouth that kicks things off
2-Charlotte the right hook that shatters your jaw
3-Suck the left hook, less powerful but more precise
4-Do you think I'm whore is the uppercut that sends you to the floor
5-Brackish are the kicks in the stomach while you’re lying on the ground begging for mercy
6-Jonny is the laughter you hear distortedly due to your defeat
7-Trippin is the middle finger raised, making you understand never to try again
8-Raven is the spit in the face marking the end of the fight
And if the lesson wasn’t enough for you, there’s also the evening course that makes you relive it all in just four tracks:
9-Get off
10-Choke
11-Paperdoll
12-Immortal
I recommend this album to all non-believers of female bands, to show you that even girls, when they want to, can make buildings collapse!!!
