WARNING: This is my first review, so I'm already expecting the Human Case Counter to come for me with a dog catcher net. After this, I'll move on to introduce you to an album by the legendary Kiss, the album that opens the eighties decade for them, "Unmasked". Surely everyone here knows the band and their pyrotechnic shows! So let's dive directly into the review.
This compared to the Kiss standard is a somewhat less hard rock album, a bit more commercial and danceable, as the eighties demand, but this change in direction does not take away the punch of an album that remains a pleasure to listen to! All the songs, starting from the opener "Is That You?" to the final "You're All That I Want" have a truly impressive energy, as the Kiss have always accustomed us to, without removing the romantic aspect from it, as demonstrated by the second track "Shandi", in my opinion one of the highlights of the album, which in concerts is portrayed as played-around-the-fire-among-friends, while the more aggressive aspect is represented, for example, by "Naked City" or the opener "Is That You?". The lyrics are the usual Kiss-style lyrics, ALL exclusively talking about love, some in a more romantic way, some more perverse, and on the instruments, as usual, they are all very skilled! Kiss is absolutely one of the bands that puts the most passion into what they do when they play, and you can hear it, you can hear it loud and clear.. if you like Kiss, this album is a must-listen, sure they have made better ones, but this is also a great album!
Street vampires in the night, young lovers and love at first sight
This is my flesh and my fantasy
Older women with younger men, I've got a feelin' I'm in trouble again
But I've got to live my destiny
