Three-piece Milanese group (formed in 2008) playing a mix of stoner, doom and psychedelic rock; early recordings are largely improvised single-take jams released for free online.

Formed around spring 2008. The band consists of three members (Andrea, Teo, Alberto mentioned in DeBaser interview). Early album How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bong features four improvised instrumental jams recorded live in single takes and was offered free on their MySpace; Zomblues was recorded separately. The group has connections with other Italian heavy-psych bands and members also play in bands such as Suburban Base, Drunk Monkeys Hospital, Sandmen, and Bones & Comfort (as stated in the interview).

King Bong are a three-member Milanese group described in DeBaser reviews as operating between stoner, doom and psychedelia. Their early material was recorded as improvised single-take jams and made freely available online. Reviews praise adventurous, live-born music that demands patience but opens doors for receptive listeners.

For:Listeners of stoner/doom/psychedelic rock, fans of improvised live recordings and the Italian heavy-psych scene.

It's now official: I have a crazy crush on King Bong.

Honesty: In certain places, with the right light and the correct temperature, it opens new doors. Other times it’s a boulder, the rock of Sisyphus, forget it.
