Khaled Hosseini (born 1965) is an Afghan-born American novelist and physician, best known for The Kite Runner (2003) and A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007).

Debut novel The Kite Runner was published in 2003. His work frequently addresses friendship, guilt, family and modern Afghan history.
