Kevin Gilbert (November 20, 1966 – May 17, 1996) was an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, known for his solo work (Thud) and the posthumously completed concept album The Shaming of the True.

Born in Sacramento; worked as a multi-instrumentalist, session musician and sound technician; associated with Toy Matinee and the band Giraffe (mentioned in reviews); The Shaming of the True was worked on before his death and completed in 2000 by friends John Rubin and Nick D'Virgilio.
