THE REVIEW

The first album of unreleased tracks by Ketty Passa is bold because it embraces Urban sounds, like M.I.A. to be clear, while keeping the lyrics in Italian. The result is truly interesting, starting from the ironic track “Le 3 cose che non sopporto” to the single “Caterina.” I heard “Ho dato tutto” live in a pseudo acoustic version and it has a great power. Ketty Passa's way of writing is audacious, she doesn’t hold back for anyone yet keeps her head high. Some tracks might be a bit daring in mixing this tribal hip hop with electric guitars. The first single released was "Sogna," accompanied by a video clip shot at Parco Lambro. Apparently, this song tried to enter Sanremo Giovani, but the style is certainly far from the Ariston Theatre. Overall, "Era ora" is a good first attempt, which must be interesting to see live with the band. Ketty is a determined and tough girl, perhaps a fiery character like her is what we needed in Italian music.
