This single by Keni Burke, as was common in those years, is released on two sides, so two tracks to promote the artist's upcoming album. That's right, two songs, but I would say the true masterpiece is the track on side A, "Rising to the top," a track that's hard not to like, with fresh sounds, a piano that hits at just the right moment and perfectly synchronized with the drums, which are at a speed halfway between a slow song by "Kool and the Gang" (style Cherish) and a pop-dance track of those years. Thus, a "beat," to be modern, on which you could really play anything, Keni Burke turned it all into an authentic masterpiece that over the years has gained considerable following, so much so that today he is remembered by many only for this piece, the one that made him famous. The bassline is melodic and immediately sticks in your head. After this track, it's difficult to linger on the second one, which despite the first's unattainability, is not bad at all, a rhythmic track and also with a greater number of instruments, making everything more lively, but never heavy. The characteristic uniting the two tracks on the single is the lightness they convey, especially in the transition from the first track to the second.
5 stars, therefore, especially for the first track, "Rising to the top."
