THE REVIEW

I have always been fascinated by Kendra Smith. Musician, 80s muse of the Dream Syndicate, "TO LITTLE TO LATE", Opal.

Reclusive personality, lost in esoteric arts, shrouded in an aura of mystery. Now she lives like a middle-aged lady on a farm, maybe that was her path, not music, and the years gone by, have passed.

Thinking back, I don't even have a clear picture of her physiognomy, yet I am captivated by her charm.

Perhaps Tibetan bells, fragrant incense, smoky atmosphere, hippie rusticism and "The Stars Are In Your Eyes"

The shadow of Nico supported by a Harmonium. A sweet ballad waiting in the rain. No drop was ever so warm.

Nocturnal jazz, distant musical love of faraway lands, in a smoky place with wooden walls scented of chanteur.

The lysergic sweetness of a carousel of shadows for children's games, spinning far back in time, round, round, it could spin for hours, and the shadows would always be happy to dance to the sound of its magic.

"It's absurd to divide music into good or bad, there are only fascinating or boring music"
