LA RECENSIONE

From a pleasant surprise to a solid reality of the Italian hardcore scene (and beyond), this is what Keep The Promise are nowadays. A band that, four years after their debut “A Peaceful Mission Of War,” has been able to evolve their offering, bringing it to a decidedly higher level. Led by frontman M.V. (Browbeat), the Carpi combo in “Ghosts Of Revenge” has managed to perfect those aspects that seemed in a testing phase years ago: primarily the artistic proposal. If the debut was inclined towards the classic old/new school mix, in this new work, the introduction of beatdown as well as riffs that we could almost approach to the nu-metal trend are particularly pleasing. A breakthrough also achieved thanks to excellent sound production, capable of giving even more groove and “muscle” to a band already charged in itself. A clear inclination towards what the German scene is offering in terms of hardcore, to be clear, confirmed by the release of the album through the German label Bleeding Nose. With an M.V. in great shape and a series of guest artists (from Marcella of End Of Season to Diego of Face Your Enemy, passing through Alex from Damn City), “Ghosts Of Revenge” offers genre enthusiasts an abundant half-hour of power, seasoned with lyrics that, as in the past, deal with current social-themed issues. “Corrosion Of A Rotten Soul” and “Please Kill Yourself Now” are two examples of what Keep The Promise have to offer nowadays, all with that typical live approach dear to hardcore bands. Highly recommended!
