After the dance album ("Kasabian"), the rock album ("Empire"), the psychedelic album ("West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum"), here's the most pop album by Kasabian, the one with which the Leicester quartet attempts to conquer the world charts.
And if the ghost single released last summer, "Switchblade Smiles", might have suggested an even more progressive and spacey record than the previous one, "Velociraptor!" actually turns out to be the most "commercial" work of Kasabian's career, although there are no missing more psychedelic/experimental moments like "La Fée Verte", "Acid Turkish Bath" or "Neon Noon".
And the mission has certainly been accomplished, gifting the band their third consecutive number 1 album in the UK charts, a success undoubtedly aided by a hit like "Days Are Forgotten", a catchy tune even in our country.
The album, as I was saying, opens with the sound of a gong (an idea as simple as it is brilliant), has an opening track ("Let's Roll Just Like We Used To") very different from those the four had accustomed us to in previous works, which seems stolen from the soundtrack of a James Bond film, and contains another hit ("Goodbye Kiss"), a sweet tear-jerking ballad, which represents another novelty in the band's discography.
In short, an album that captures you and confirms the great visionary capabilities of Sergio Pizzorno.
Velociraptor! he's gonna find ya!, he's gonna kill ya!, is gonna eat ya!

With Velociraptor!, the band creates an album that is different not only from its predecessor but also from Kasabian's earlier work.
