Karol Wojtyla

Karol Józef Wojtyła (1920–2005), known as Pope John Paul II, was a Polish priest, pope (1978–2005), poet, playwright and author.

Born 18 May 1920, died 2 April 2005. Served as Pope from 1978 until 2005. Authored poems and plays; several collections of his poetry are published.
