Let's bet 50 euros that if you ask around who has represented and represents Italian hip-hop, you will be answered: "Well? I think Gemelli Diversi, Mondo Marcio, Fabri Fibra"?
Let's bet 50 euros that if you ask the same individuals, from whom the three artists mentioned above drew inspiration, you will be answered: "Surely Eminem, Jovanotti, Jay-Z"?
Let's bet 50 euros that if you ask the same damn people who Kaos is, they will answer: "I don't know, who the hell is he"?
Marco Fiorito, stage name Kaos One, is an unconventional rapper, a sort of true anti-conformist who has always preferred to remain in the shadows rather than be known for tracks that stray from the true hip-hop spirit, tracks without pretension and close to commercial pop.
"L'Attesa" is a complex album, which shows the essence of evil, of discomfort, of the thin line that divides fake reality, that of money and hypocrisy, the one that surrounds us every day, from the real one, which Kaos has lived and that we all experience a bit, if only we tried to look "Beyond The End", as the title of the last track of the album suggests.
A CD that nonetheless winks at a minimum of catchiness, to better capture what Fiorito beautifully has to say.
After the amazing "The Year of the Dragon", it becomes clear that the hardcore voice of Kaos should be taken into consideration.
Excellent lyrics writing, especially in the first part of the album.
In the same section stands out the (practically unknown) hit "Precious Things", the chorus says: "In the dark you walk with me, you are the reason I survive because you've given me a goal until red tears fall on the asphalt."
There would be so much to say, but the conclusions would always lead to a terminus, an adolescence spent surviving among darkness, obscenities, fear, and repression.
To various fans of M. Marcio, Eminem, and 50 Cent, listen to this track and then you will understand the true sense of rap.
In the rage of the Milanese rapper, his wound is noticeable, caused by a drug abuse that gave a twist to the development of the texture.
Listen to the title track "L'attesa", nothing to add, nor to subtract from the previous tracks and since class doesn't evaporate, minutes pass, but they don't weigh.
Good collaborations with Melma & Merda in Raggi X (Kaos's voice is on another level compared to M&M) and with Chico in "Paura".
Always against success, always against business, always against himself; the perfect mix that brings this LP to very high levels.
To listen to, regardless of whether you have preferences, prejudices, well-structured mental schemes, because the goal of this LP is also to break down every wall, so it might appeal even if you listen to grunge, light music, or electronic.
In conclusion, it's a CD that in some way keeps the flag of Italian hip-hop high, a phenomenon of Italian-made hip-hop tarnished by merchandising and above all by hypocrisy.
Ah? one last thing: "Do you owe me 150 euros? "... I'll remain in Waiting?
