Cristogenesi, along with Spirituality and Laudes, forms a true "trilogy of the sacred".
Published in 2021, it also alternates between new tracks and traditional songs from the Catholic liturgy.
This time I won't opt for a track-by-track review, but instead, I'll just state my preferences among the thirteen tracks.
The whole in the fragment is certainly a great start, because Juri finds divine grace in every little thing.
Then, after two songs with a rather and deliberately obsessive rhythm, Vite silenziose appears, for which Roberto Juri also made a video. A very evocative song that should be listened to several times.
Non viene mai la notte is not bad, but it didn't particularly impress me, just as I listened to the next three traditional ones in a "canonical" way. But it is after them that the gem of the record arrives, Riflessioni sul senso, with wonderful music and lyrics, a track almost worthy of study...
After the interlude of Stella caeli comes the beautiful Sintonie universali, which I also liked a lot; then, after the instrumental reprise of Emmanuel, comes the definitive track, La mia genesi. Like Riflessioni sul senso, it should also be listened to multiple times.
I give Cristogenesi three and a half stars; in my opinion, the best of the trilogy is Spirituality, and just a step below, Laudes.
