Mr Wolf's review praises Junior Kimbrough's 1997 album Most Things Haven't Worked Out as a dirty, hypnotic, and essential record rooted in delta and Southern blues. The review highlights a modal, trance-like approach, the synergy with guitarist Kenny Brown and a sparse, massive sound. The album is seen as both archaic and modern.

For:Listeners and fans of raw, hypnotic Delta and North Mississippi hill country blues; those who like trance-like guitar grooves and stripped-down, powerful blues.
