THE REVIEW

Julie’s Haircut are Italian (but they could be from anywhere else in the world) and this is the EP that should precede the album of consecration(?).

There are five songs we find here, and five are the tracks that are enough to get to know them and understand that they're serious. The lightness of Lost in Riot, the punctuality of Hey Man, and the timing of The Power of Psychic Revenge form the three key points of the mini-CD.

Sounds that echo the best Yo La Tengo, rock’n’roll rhythms, poignant ballads, and a hint of melancholy.

Ah, let's not forget the wonderful cover of Spacemen 3, Hey Man, which showcases all their psychedelic abilities and closes the EP in the best way possible.

Julie's Haircut

Julie’s Haircut are an Italian psychedelic/experimental rock band from Emilia-Romagna (Reggio Emilia/Modena area), active since the late 1990s. Starting from noisy indie and punk-tinged beginnings, they embraced krautrock pulses, hypnotic loops and cosmic keyboards across albums like Our Secret Ceremony and Ashram Equinox. Their Rocket Recordings releases broadened their international profile.
