LA RECENSIONE

Unlimited Hate, the first full-length recorded in '96 by Joyless, a Norwegian Black Metal / Depressive Rock band composed of the two bassists and guitarists from the historic Forgotten Woods, has the dark ability to envelop the listener in a spiral of anguish, depression, and melancholy worthy of the grandiose name that Olav and Nylon carry: a classic Depressive album atmosphere, extremely bleak, black, hopeless, which unfolds across the 8 tracks of the album, totaling about an hour.

The painful journey begins with "Inherient Emptiness", a perfect blend of Thrash and Black, devastating yet beautiful, with a repetitive but compelling riff, followed by "Your Crystal Fragments", a song that reveals a nostalgic, wistful, demoralizing atmosphere and the next track, "Bla Melankoli", even more depressive than the previous one, where at times the Forgotten Woods-style scream is used. Then comes "Don't Need Religion", a cover of the famous Motorhead. The two compositions "Overmotets Pris" and "Jomfrulysets Fall" are in the classic Depressive Black Metal style with obsessive riffs, black as death liturgies. Then we move on to the penultimate track, with sound and vocals reminiscent of Forgotten Woods, and finally, one can relax with a lovely ambient melody made with piano, keyboards, and violins.

In short, overall, a very well-made album that knows how to blend various genres well. Recommended to everyone, especially fans of Depressive music.
