Close your eyes and fly away
Let the diamonds make the light
Crystal blue will turn your ruby red
Pas with I'm amazing with a heaven story hazel
Ever since it galloped over head

(from "Desert Raven")

Dearest Spirit, thank you for enlightening me. You appeared covered in dust among a pile of CDs, listened to with little attention and then immediately abandoned for some unknown reason. You revealed yourself, and immediately, you pulled me into your web with your sweet psychedelia.

Dearest Spirit, thank you for giving me the wings of a black desert raven, for allowing me to fly over, in the rain, the canyons and the valley of the silver moon, for bringing me to those borderlands where the green of the pines shines and waterfalls cascade in the silence of nature.

Dearest Spirit, I will always be in your debt. You introduced me to Jonathan Wilson, thirty-seven-year-old from North Carolina, a talented folk-rock singer-songwriter, highly inspired and psychedelic, a lover of the '70s and that gentle music made of elongated guitars and crystalline sounds. Thank you for instilling in Jonathan the breath, the suggestions, and the echoes of nature (Natural Rhapsody is the clearest example) throughout the entire album. A work meticulously crafted and produced, a masterpiece beyond today's standards, against the rigid rules of today's music market. Nearly 80 minutes of precious arrangements, of lysergic rides in the West alongside Neil Young, the late Elliott Smith, at times the Pink Floyd of "More" and "Obscured By Cloud". Jam sessions and acoustic pieces alternating, suspended on light melodies, whispered voices (Valley Of The Silver Moon), fingerpicking guitars (Ballad of the Pines and Can We Really Party Today?), at times liquid (Desert Raven).

Dearest Spirit, I hope these few lines can instill in readers your sensitivity, offering everyone an hour or more of total relaxation, outside of time and space.

Dearest Spirit, watch over this admirable site from above and protect us from bad music... forever.
