The Profile

Creative and personal partnership of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, spanning avant‑garde recordings, political statements, and chart work from the late 1960s through 1980; posthumous material followed.

They collaborated on provocative Unfinished Music projects (including Two Virgins and Life with the Lions), staged 1969 bed-ins for peace, issued political rock on Some Time in New York City, and later returned with Double Fantasy (1980). Happy Xmas (War Is Over) remains a widely known seasonal single. Lennon was killed in 1980; Milk and Honey was released posthumously in 1984.

Four DeBaser reviews tackle the Lennon–Ono partnership from raw avant‑garde experiments to politicized rock. Two Virgins and Wedding Album spark divided reactions; Some Time in New York City gets both praise and scorn. Themes include activism, feminism, and bed-ins. Expect candid takes and a few howls.
