Joel David Coen (born 1954) and Ethan Jesse Coen (born 1957) are American filmmakers who write, direct and produce films together. Their first feature was Blood Simple (1984).

They are frequently credited collectively as the Coen Brothers and are known for dark comedies, crime dramas and occasional Westerns.
