I JOE TIZZONE AND THE FUCKIN ‘SHIT were born from the encounter between Joe Tizzone, one of the greatest progressive guitarists, T-Bone Jack, one of the best funky-jazz drummers, William Wilson (former bassist of Aero-Phagic) and Jeremy Candy Lee (Famous for his irreverent and provocative prose and poetry).
These people have finally created a neoteric and idiosyncratic work, perhaps delayed for too long, mixing sounds and words in a world I would dare say is d i v i n e... Or rather, as Joe says in an interview with LONELY STUFF: "We wanted to create something new."
The album opens with an intro by T-Bone on Drum-machine with syncopated and arcane rhythms and a bass line that is both oval and distorted, leading into the title track TAKE IT AND FUCK IT, a decidedly trash-metal song. It is followed by DEPISTOLGY and ALONE IN THE DARK, two songs with an Arabesque style where Jeremy's voice inserts itself among the rhythmic embroideries of Joe and William with a range that spans three octaves!
The fourth song is LETUS, a true slow ballad with a very sad lyric: "Here in the Between of Nothing only my hand can soddify me," sings Jeremy... Sigh!
But let's get to the masterpiece of the album: COOL CAT IN MY ASSHOLE, where Joe Tizzone showcases his technique by moving from Dorian scales to internal scales, from standard to hairless rhythms, from tapping to zapping, and from hammer to pull-off with disarming ease, while Candy Lee sings in unrhymed hendecasyllables a poem of rare beauty!
This is followed by BUZZ OR BUZZING with an unstoppable Wilson and DAYTONA, a song dedicated to a prostitute from Dallas..
The album closes with the epilogue triptych of POKEMON-A, TSUBO BOY, and LINDA LOVELACE, linked together by the rhythmic dualisms of Tizzone and Wilson and the sound carpet offered by T-bone Jack
who, in this session, even uses a drum set with a triple pedal!!!!
