THE REVIEW

A prolific artist, Joe Purdy, with thirteen albums released from 2001 to 2010, three of which came out in 2006 alone.
Julie Blue, his fourth work, is an album written by the riverbank. Water is present in all the tracks, giving each its rhythm, as if Joe took inspiration from the slow flow of the river, from the small ripples created by the breeze, from people playing and splashing, from the rain, water upon water. Acoustic folk sounds, minimal instrumentation, his guitar, and a few other instruments here and there to season the piece. Atmospheres of a rainy day spent watching the world get wet from the window, or reading a book, or even falling asleep lulled by the gentle (but not always) rhythm of his pieces.
He was noticed by the general public when the track that closes the album, "Wash Away (reprise)", was used at the end of an episode of Lost. From that moment on his music has been chosen to soundtrack more than one touching moment in various American series.
Joe is an independent artist who self-publishes and, amazingly, allows all his albums to be listened to for free, without even the need to provide an email address.
