Scottish singer-songwriter active from the early 1970s; worked with Gerry Rafferty in an early folk-rock group and released solo albums in 1979 and 1981.

Was in a folk-rock group in the early 1970s with Gerry Rafferty. Released a solo album in 1979 (titled in sources either Back on the Road or Out Of Nowhere) containing ten songs centered on voice and acoustic guitar; the opening track "Back on the Road" was released as a single. A second solo album followed in 1981. The 1979 album has not been reissued on CD (per the review).

A nostalgic look at Joe Egan's 1979 solo album (variously titled Out Of Nowhere / Back On The Road). Ten mostly acoustic singer-songwriter songs with folk and country-rock touches. The single "Back on the Road" is highlighted as a standout. A second solo album appeared in 1981; the 1979 album hasn't been reissued on CD.

For:Fans of 1970s folk-rock and singer-songwriters, collectors of obscure solo albums, followers of Gerry Rafferty / Stealers Wheel

From a remote corner of memory emerges a name, it’s just a trace, a vague memory.
