The themes of Lo Fi and the bedroom culture are now quite popular, just mention bands like Annie Hall, The Clever Square, and many others: Jocelyn Pulsar (a name carefully chosen not to go down in history...) certainly belong to this category, with one substantial peculiarity: the lyrics in Italian; the foundation is certainly pop, with stylistic references found in the new Italian songwriting "wave" (Artemoltobuffa, Bugo...).
The title track is a curious and "irreverent" peek into the "tics" and obsessions of the so-called "Italian independent scene", and all "our heroes" are indeed present (but you'll have the pleasure to discover them, even in the incredible music video, also shown on MTV Your Noise by the way...) in various references, not always immediate; the most interesting tracks are probably those where the rhythm becomes more pressing, thus "Teckan" (here the reference is to the glorious horizontal football arcade game...), "Mi manchi?" (where the question mark implies being in the presence of the indie "anti-ex" anthem...); probably the main flaw of Jocelyn is found in the excessive "Romagna-ness" of the singing, but essentially it is an interesting work: oblique pop, never entirely reassuring, Jocelyn Pulsar throw the raw reality in our face with a smile (a forced one..).
