This album was released in '95, achieving moderate success, including several Grammy Award nominations for the singer. Indeed, besides the stunning "One of Us", there are well-crafted country songs in terms of lyrics and melodies that manage to captivate, certainly because they slightly diverge from the musical style, which suits Joan Osborne's intonation excellently and draws closer to the Cranberries of "No Need to Argue."

The album opens with "St. Teresa", nominated for a Grammy alongside "Spider Web", featuring a beautiful melody emanating from guitar and mandolin arpeggios, in sync with a resonant bass to which the voice seems to be the transfiguration. After this beautiful song follows a cover of Bob Dylan with brief, sad excerpts like: "One, two... There are no mistakes in life some people say, It's true sometimes you can see it that way, People don't live or die, people just float, She give her heart to the man in the long black coat."

At this point, the album livens up a bit, with the blues of "My Right Hand Man," the original version of which belongs to Captain Beefheart, with a sloppy and repetitive intonation in the verses. "Pensacola" is as slow as the previous ones, yet maintains the lilting inflection, made valuable by the beautiful intonation, vocalizations, and instruments that follow a sly blues rhythm: very beautiful.

"Dracula Moon" is another lively track, not in its pungent and sardonic lyrics, but it is creative, which evaporates along with the blues in the following "One of Us" in my opinion one of the most beautiful songs ever: the guitar solo is amazing; the lyrics are superb, attempting to hypothesize what the appearance of God might be if it were someone you could meet in everyday life.

The following songs return to the blues-folk style, with lyrics in "Let's Just Get Naked" becoming even more languid. Meanwhile, "Crazy Baby" resumes the soft-rock melody with romantic, wistful, but picturesque and surreal lyrics.

The closing song is nice, the slowest, with lyrics still focused on theology.
