The long-awaited visual videoclip of Jey's second single has been released on YouTube. It's online and bears the signature of the great Roman director Giovanni Bufalini.

What is it about?

Faced with the idea, to celebrate the bond with her sister Celeste, of creating a powerful video for a song that reflects their experiences over the last few years, Jey chose to develop her latest single “Morfeo.”
The artist has been singing for 17 years, with her first stages being the park benches, sitting cross-legged and singing the verses of Noemi and Giorgia, because their choruses always had something magical. Over time, she had the honor of specializing with Maestro Jose Carreras and singing as a soprano for the great Maestro Riccardo Muti.

In this project, Jey delivers a series of personal reflections and verses written by her sister Celeste in the single that will kickstart her future album (in a multi-instrumental version in the process of being written) linked to the inner conflict we find ourselves in when life tests us by opening doors to love stories, or better yet, special challenges, between ourselves and the other who accompanies us. This song united the artist with Celeste in a single path, from the difficulties faced in the past to the common conditions of this so nostalgic present.

THE ARTIST SPEAKS

“Morfeo” is a single that speaks of personal growth, of an extremely intimate and private shared relationship, so powerful that it manages to change everything in a relationship experienced too soon, or perhaps partially misunderstood between a “beauty” and a “beast.” A relationship as strong as it is bitter, but profoundly sweet in its imprint that will never be forgotten. I wanted a video as a Visual concept reflecting the sense of the souvenir postcard, like the old images specially crafted by director Giovanni Bufalini (whom I thank infinitely for believing in my project), to immortalize and relive moments of sincere love, which our memory often hides for survival. Various close elements are reported to me to create this setting and highlight certain words through sounds gently accompanied by the period set design of American and Italian cinema of the '30s, '40s, and '50s and by symbols of nature to evoke our sentiment. The visual project accompanies this delicate and introverted theme, releasing strong and incisive signals of all our passion."

The Visual of “Morfeo” reflects on the concept of the musical piece, in the union of the two sisters Jey and Celeste in a single path. It unites the colorful sphere of modern visual imagery with the references to the great Romantic cinema of the '50s. From the difficulties faced in the past to the common conditions of this so nostalgic present, the theme of the “double,” in the dreamlike dimension of love, is stronger than any separation we endure and gives us the courage to accept losses and defeats, ultimately discovering the best version of ourselves. A Visual Videoclip directed by Giovanni Bufalini, with the creative editing of Simone Serafini, in a psychedelic pop protein smoothie highly nourishing for the soul.
