THE REVIEW

Psychedelia take me away!
This is the phrase that best summarizes this third work by the Padua-based band Jennifer Gentle, an Italian band that I find incredibly interesting.

I find their music extremely well-crafted, in terms of sounds, vocal lines, and imagery: I decided to get their CD after watching the "I Do Dream You" video on Brand New (the other face of MTV... thanks for existing!!) just once: gothic atmospheres and decidedly disorienting images... really, really beautiful...

The CD opens with perhaps the two most catchy songs, with clear country influences, and proceeds with very elegant and decidedly more psychedelic tracks, with a nod to "Revolution 9" (or perhaps I noticed it because it was the first song of the genre that I got to know...) complete with xylophones, violins, and whispered phrases...
In short, a must-listen. Considering also that they have set up their own label and self-produce.
If only everyone in Italy were like this...
