THE REVIEW

Jem, a 31-year-old English artist with her first work, is often compared to her compatriot Dido for her clean voice and the genre of her songs. I believe this comparison only stands to a certain extent because, while the voice is indeed similar to Dido’s, her songs differ significantly, ranging from electronic (which is somewhat the common thread of all the tracks) to simpler pop, up to rock bases (as in "24" or "Come on Closer") and very "retro" sounds (as is the case with "Wish I" and "Just a Ride").

I think this is precisely the beauty of this album. It transitions from aggressive songs to others almost whispered ("Flying High") almost without noticing, because they are all accompanied by a truly excellent voice.
