At first glance, it seems like you're faced with a "clever" album, with trendy sounds, the kind you listen to in a hip little spot during happy hour, between an olive and a caipiroska.
Tracks that the "trendy" DJ downloaded (illegally!) and saved in the "lounge-chill-out-buddha-café-del-mar and similar" folder on their computer.
It seems... but it's not so, especially when it comes to Jazzanova, a collective of Berliners known for their easy remixes who often, as Bonolis might say, have "embellished" others' works with their own "cool" touch. As the title suggests, it's a collection of reinterpretations of tracks from different genres, from Calexico to Status IV, from Nu-Spirit Helsinki to Masters at Work, passing through Fat Freddy's Drop and Marcos Valle.
A kaleidoscope of sounds that has as its common denominator the "groove", which elevates these productions from the chaos of the overly saturated world of more rhythmic electronic music. If you're looking for something different from the usual hotel compilations, beach bar tunes, or fashion-addict street soundtracks, here it is.
