Jan Dismas Zelenka (1679–1745) was a Bohemian (Czech) Baroque composer known for complex counterpoint, sacred works and instrumental music; long associated with the Dresden musical scene.

Rediscovered in the 20th century, Zelenka's music has been championed in the mid- to late-20th century revival (the review cites Heinz Holliger's role in the 1950s rediscovery) and featured on ECM's New Series.

A highly positive review of Zelenka's Trio Sonatas highlights their complexity, emotional range and a celebrated performance by Heinz Holliger and Maurice Bourgue. The review links Zelenka's mid-20th-century rediscovery to a renewed appreciation of his work. Performance, counterpoint and the ECM New Series release are emphasized.
