THE REVIEW

In my opinion, he is one of the grrrrreatest voices in the entire history of rock. So, when I see this album here by James LaBrie, who has this voice that's always the same, even though it's the voice of perhaps the most technical band in rock history, Dream Theater, but, this James LaBrie, he's done this new album, he's already done others, collaborations left and right... he always sings the same: with this melodic vibrato; he should have been singing "Lisa dagli occhi blu", right?! - LIIIISA DAGLI OCCHI BLUUUU... SENZA LE TRECCE LA STESSA NON SEI PIU' - Mario Tessuto, right?! You know what I mean, don't you?! That's his nature! Then, when he expands, he expands, but... it's chicken-like, GET IT?!
And he's done this last album on his own. I call him James "the whiner" now. "Elements of Persuasions"... this album that I consider indecent, ESPECIALLY FOR ONE... WHO'S AT THE H-E-A-D

...

OF ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN THE WORLD. YOU CAN'T AFFORD A SOLO ALBUM LIKE THIS. YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT!!! DO YOU GET IT?!

This review harshly criticizes James LaBrie's solo album 'Elements of Persuasion.' While praising LaBrie's iconic voice with Dream Theater, the reviewer feels the solo work is disappointing, repetitive, and unworthy of such a talented frontman. The album fails to meet expectations and is described as indecent for an artist of his caliber.

The stubborn search for extremely different sounds is too evident: it ranges from nu-metal to electronic music, even including scratches that frankly could have been easily avoided.

What raises this album is LaBrie’s great performance, confirming him as one of the greatest singers on the planet.

You might notice it from the opener "Crucify" which seems entirely like the intro of "A Change of Seasons."

Marco Sfogli is also a rather sore point in the entire work: technically impeccable but truly useless from a creative standpoint.
