James Clay and David "Fathead" Newman were American jazz saxophonists who recorded together on the 1960 Riverside album The Sound of the Wide Open Spaces!!!!; Clay is heard on tenor saxophone and flute, Newman on tenor saxophone and was also known for his work with Ray Charles.
