"You see a dancing sun
Bursting into flames
Is this real I feel like I’ve known you for a while
Please don’t ever say that you don’t mean if you can
Don’t be scared of me
Don’t be scared"
Piano that slowly fades into guitar, creating a warm palpable musicality. Elisa sings these words with a voice fuller, more determined and confident than ever. An ethereal voice in the background that seems to suffer, seems undecided in a splendid contrast with the first. Then suddenly a rock invades the soft atmosphere. A man sings in French, Italian, and English in just one song. In the chorus, the two voices overlap, overlapping diverse images creating a dreamlike atmosphere. " Opera", the title of the song, the most beautiful, the most significant, the song for which the album "In Silence" would deserve the highest marks, the song through which I had the honor of knowing this group, the Jade.
Je suis l’amour dechiré Je suis l’amour
Don’t let me fade away
Don’t push me back don’t let go
If you say that I’m your dream you’ll keep me alive
Their music is hard, determined like in "Opera"... But it's not enough...
At times, the album presents itself as rough, unripe, and especially acidic in its music, where cries of liberation or suffering appear, depending on the moment and especially on the mood of the listener...
Personally, I prefer to listen to it in the most furious moments, because it has the strange ability to absorb all my anger... But in contrast to exquisitely rock songs (like Acid Heart, Sexton, In Silence), we find soft pearls (like Love in Paris, You Are) with atmospheres at times very sensual, which transport you to a velvety, intimate, and deeply felt world; but even these songs are at times brushed with splashes of rock paint...
Despite the title, it is not an album that remains silent, because it tries in every way to be present, to assert itself and to leave a mark for better or for worse... Certainly not a masterpiece of music (except for "Opera", a true masterpiece), but a pleasant album that is enjoyable to listen to, where the abilities and qualities of a group are in embryo, which I hope will make themselves heard again in the future and maybe will also be appreciated by a wider audience...
Sometimes significant works remain in silence...
This magnificent sculpture
Breathes, moves, loves, cries,
Bleeding into my skin… ...cause
She is love in hell
She is love Don’t let me fade away
Don’t push me back don’t let go
If you say that I’m your dream you’ll keep me alive
If you give me a name
I’ll come to life
I’ll become skin and bones for you
Then I’ll come closer
And I’m held on you
