THE REVIEW

Dear Mr_Iko,
How's it going? It's been several months since your letter, I wanted to reply sooner, but as you can see, I decided to do so only after completing my new album.
My third journey in search of the perfect wave.

These recent times have been a bit busier than usual for me, accustomed to Hawaiian rhythms; the long tour and directing commitments for some documentaries have kept me away from my loved ones for a while.
So, as soon as I could, I returned to writing with great enthusiasm, the same enthusiasm you might have noticed in my Sitting, Waiting, Wishing video, where it was fun to edit all the material in reverse at the end.

My faithful Merlo on bass and Adam on percussion were more engaging than usual for this album. Indeed, their presence is felt, especially in songs like Never Known, Crying Shame or Breakdown where I wanted to give more substance without limiting myself to my faithful acoustic guitar.

I confess that some fans overseas initially frowned a bit, being more attached to the acoustic nature of the first album, while many appreciated my effort to give more completeness to the compositions from the start, managing to maintain the simplicity that distinguishes me.

With this, I don't want to scare you; my intimate moments where it's just me and my six-string can't be missing, and I think that No Other Way, Constellations and If I Could (A brand new baby was born yesterday, just in time papa cried, baby cried, said your tears are like mine... Yes, I've become a father!) are also among the most beautiful I've ever created.

What can I say, you asked me not to change, and as you will hear, I haven't. I just wanted to be surrounded a bit more by my friends, giving more the idea of a party under the sun rather than a melancholic midnight bonfire.
After all, as you say, I'm surrounded by friends, sea, sun, and loved ones; what should I ever change in my life?

Best regards
Jack
