The album is overall good, with 16 tracks (some very interesting, others fillers). J-Ax follows his new musical style already showcased in the last 2 albums with Articolo 31 ("Domani smetto" and "Italiano medio"). In this new work, Aleotti is more reflective and writes with a certain maturity (compared to his previous lyrics, logically). This CD talks mostly about his girlfriend and himself. But let's take a sneak peek track by track.
="S.N.O.B"= song in pure "early Articolo 31" style, with a very angry lyric, a cop show-like base, and a smashing chorus. In this first track, J-Ax presents himself as if it were his first album in his discography (which in a sense it is). Overall, one of the best.
="Escono i pazzi"= from a good song we immediately move to a not so good one: quite original lyrics, mocking people who are afraid of immigrants, but with a quirky chorus that doesn't tell me anything. Additionally, the music strongly resembles songs by Finley.
="Ti amo o ti ammazzo"= J-Ax's pinnacle of romance is reached with this very cute song about a fight with his girlfriend. A decidedly pop chorus that's also angry and thus worthy of J-Ax. Released as a single and achieved decent success.
="Le chiavi di casa"= an original, very autobiographical song where J-Ax talks to a bartender about himself and eventually runs out without paying. The spoken parts sometimes make it unclear who is speaking (J-Ax or the bartender????). The verses are hip-hop, but again, the chorus doesn't quite fit.
="Di sana pianta"= my favorite song on this album: J-Ax tries to comfort a friend who broke up with a mean woman, great verses, energizing chorus. Nothing more to add.
="Buonanotte Italia"= this is also an autobiographical song but decidedly more pop compared to "Le chiavi di casa" and also significantly more beautiful. The chorus is beautiful, J-Ax also proves himself sensitive and skilled.
="Fabrizio fa brutto"= this song is not the best, let's say that J-Ax attempts to do rock but doesn't quite succeed... but at least he tries! (if Finley is considered rock then J-Ax is Marilyn Manson)
="Sei un grande"= this one is also not good, because the song has no purpose: with DJ Jad he's done and redone songs talking about "daddy's boys"
="Piccoli per sempre"= simply wonderful, extremely moving, you should buy the CD just for this song which is pop but with exceptional and sad lyrics.
="Aqua nella scquola"= a quite hip-hop song though I don't understand how the title fits in a once again quite autobiographical song with very superficial lyrics but a nice rhythm.
="Sei sicura"= a sort of serenade by J-Ax for his girlfriend, in this piece he vaguely reminds of Lucio Battisti.
="Tua mamma"= "so kiddos, who wants a candy from J-Ax?" the funniest song on the album with the most lively lyrics, injecting energy into the veins. The song talks about the typical Italian family.
="Se mi sposo"= the most moving song of the album, talking about a friend who died. Here again, the chorus doesn't tell me anything but there's a nice rhythm in the verses.
="Quanti anni"= once more J-Ax tries to do rock but with poor results... the chorus sounds like a stadium chant (horrible)
="Generazione zero"= another great song, it talks about J-Ax's generation (if I'm not mistaken it should be the '70s) in pure Articolo 31 style, with lots of references to the current good life. After "Piccoli per sempre" and "SNOB" it's the track I like the most.
="Mio figlio sarà un mostro"= it's the song most similar to those from "Italiano medio" and talks about J-Ax's son who will change the world.
If you didn't like this review, forgive me, but it's the first one I've done.
