30 years after the last album in life, Malelingue, and 25 after the last posthumous album Per sempre... Ivan, arrives, after an outstanding studio work by his son Filippo and his collaborators, Ivan Graziani - Per gli amici, an objectively beautiful album, which adds further value to being the posthumous work of one of the greatest Italian songwriters and guitarists.
Eight tracks for almost 26 minutes to listen to all in one go.
It starts with Una donna, where the things lost for a woman are listed, indeed.
In La rabbia, the voice of son Filippo completes the track, and there is even a verse dedicated by the father to the son back then!
L'italianina is so sweet, to listen to and listen to again.
La canzone dei marinai is a powerful, almost cinematic rock, which opens and closes with ocean waves.
And then comes the irreverent TV, where there are also vocal contributions from Filippo, but the high notes on the title are the father's!
Miley is a delightful song set in Naples, and for yours truly, from the province of Naples, it's one more reason to love this piece.
Ti sorprenderò is the longest track of the album, 3 minutes and 52 seconds, and Ivan's voice is crystal clear.
Closing it all are the splendid guitar phrases of the title track, where Ivan promises to always sing for friends, even at the cost of a cold. Listening carefully, there is also a reference to Lugano addio!
The eight tracks were found by sons Filippo and Tommaso in a suitcase, and after thirty years, they enjoy being current, because Ivan Graziani always knew how to handle universal themes.
To Ivan Graziani - Per gli amici, and its entirely white cover with the cursive writing Ivang, 5 stars for life!
