LA RECENSIONE

It's a hard to kill a good thing!!!

If this is true, it's even more so for being an exponent of grunge, 12 years after its death (4-5-'94).

Yet Mark Lanegan manages to still be there, with a scorched, black, dusty, never repetitive album. When his voice takes us into the depths, like an angel Isobel Campbell comes to bring us back up to the light, to breathe.

Sometimes it's the guitar, on simple and effective blues rhythms, that accompanies us on this ride of 12 tracks, sometimes strings join in to give a touch of skillful epicness to the journey, as if the faces of these songs had the features of Sergio Leone's heroes.

So saddle up, no rush, Mark is leaving town, and when he reaches the sea, he will still be able to tell us about its scent... its color...
