This that I am trying to write is not a review of an album, but about the 'World Tour 2006' which has now reached Europe and, on December 2nd and 3rd respectively, will arrive in Italy. The protagonists will be, apart from those who will be in the audience, the Iron Maiden!
In fact, our idols will offer (as they have already done in other parts of the world) a truly unique tracklist, as it will be completely different from the "usual model" we are accustomed to following.
When have the Maiden ever presented the entire tracklist of an album live? Because it so happens that this is what is happening, leaving us with a sense of wonder and amazement as the tour approaches Milan.
The audience is in rapture. Imagine a lyrical, epic, and grand intro that overwhelms us and will lead us to the group's entrance on stage! They are now on stage. Five members are already ecstatic; their legs tremble a bit from the excitement, but it passes quickly because the first notes of "Different World" make them feel right at home. Soon after, Bruce Dickinson starts You lead me on the path / Keep showing me the way. . . . At the end of this, Dickinson turns to the audience and greets them. It's then the turn of all the other songs from "A Matter Of Life And Death," which everyone enjoys while perhaps wondering what the Maiden might offer them next. After "Legacy," Bruce will vocally introduce one of their most successful creations, "Fear Of The Dark." At that moment, a roar of voices and screams will cover the entire Datchforum, and then the chorus of the song will echo inside Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooooo. . . . Then, finally, Dickinson's voice will be heard, ungraceful but anticipated: Scream for me Milan! Scream for me Milaaaan! The Iron. . . Maideeen!!!. At the end of this, the stage will go dark, and the attendees will begin to praise the Maidens Maiden-Maiden-Maiden-Maiden. . . . It will be the guitar in Janick Gers' hands to interrupt this "monotony" of sounds, with the driving riff (an adjective that is clichéd but essential) of "2 Minutes To Midnight." Then comes the turn of the magnificent "The Evil That Men Do," which hasn't been played in public since "Rock in Rio." It will be "Hallowed Be Thy Name" to awaken the fans from the dream they find themselves in.
Once home, before falling asleep, each of us will wonder, with a bit of disappointment, what happened to the classics "The Trooper," "Wrathchild," "The Number Of The Beast," and "Run To The Hills," but then we will realize we have been part of a slice of the history of this legendary group and will be very satisfied with this special experience.
Obviously, everything I have described in these lines is the fruit of my imagination, as I have not yet been able to verify it in person. One thing I can say about this event is that I will be there!!!Loading comments slowly
