I am writing this short review after having listened to and watched the video of the Maiden's latest "effort," namely "The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg" taken from "A Matter Of Life And Death", an album about to be released and which, according to Harris and the crew, will win two platinum records in one hour...
The video itself is nice, with an alternation of images of the old Maiden (those of Number Of The Beast, Live After Death, and the Monsters of Rock of '92) alternating with the current ones, conveying a certain nostalgia to all the fans.
As for the song, there's little to say: it starts slow and calm with the bass taking the lead, then a sound explosion with the "usual" riff and the "usual" good vocal performance by Bruce. The instrumental part at the end with Murray's solo is similar to those of the recent works of the Iron Maiden.
In essence, the song is pleasant to listen to (even though it lasts over 7 minutes), but it doesn't offer anything new, it feels old. At this point, we can only wait for the release of the new album (which according to Bruce is better than the previous ones, mahhhh) and their arrival in Milan at the beginning of December.
