"The Number Of The Beast" is considered the best Iron Maiden album. The most substantial and evident difference with the first two albums is the absence of the charismatic but drug-addicted and alcoholic Paul DiAnno and the until-then semi-unknown Samson singer, Bruce Dickinson, who makes you forget the former vocalist with a memorable performance in every song on the album.
The album, which is the 3rd for Iron Maiden, contains masterpieces that will be featured in live shows and future greatest hits, such as "Run To The Hills", "Hallowed Be Thy Name", the underrated "Children Of The Damned" and "22 Acacia Avenue" (continuation of the Charlot saga), and the title track "The Number Of The Beast". The CD also includes "The Prisoner", which is a tribute to a famous TV show of the time, "Invaders", "Gangland", and the bonus track "Total Eclipse".
If you have never listened to this album, do it now! It is undoubtedly a milestone in Iron Maiden's career and heavy metal in general. Rating: 9.5
A MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A magnificent album that has certainly marked the metal!!!!!!!
And one day Heavy Metal was born!
Hallowed Be Thy Name... one of the best pieces of classic Heavy ever conceived by a human mind.
The Number Of The Beast is probably the best album of the British metal quintet, and certainly the most famous.
'Hallowed by Thy Name' is the masterpiece of the album, one of the most engaging metal tracks of all time.
Iron Maiden are great, everyone knows that by now; they are legends.
Iron Maiden are a war machine; at 20 years old, they remain great and have never sold out.
‘Invaders’ is a horrendous, absolutely unlistenable, and senseless song.
‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’ is one of the best tracks ever composed by Iron Maiden in their entire career.
