Could this be one of the best live performances of the Maiden?? Let's see... "Live After Death" features a stunning tracklist, amazing songs that have made this group's fortune. But (there's a but) in the famous performance, Bruce Dickinson's voice wasn't at its best, and you can hear it in the high notes, still a fantastic live of the Maiden... let's move on to 1993: "Live At Donington" and the various live performances turn out to be a mediocre product in sound but also in the tracklist, which isn't that surprising, plus the production is quite poor... in short, live shows to avoid... and so we come to the present day with Dickinson's return and this fantastic live... cameras everywhere (even attached to the guitars...), fantastic show with the crowd literally in a frenzy, in this case, Dickinson's voice is perfect as well as the harmony among the three (!!) guitarists, the bass of the "boss" Steve Harris and Nicko's drums (his dance in "the clansman" is beautiful :-)).
If we really want to be picky, the tracklist features too many tracks from "Brave New World" (no less than 6) but it also includes historic tracks of the group ("The Trooper" "Fear Of The Dark"...) well blended with tracks from not-so-successful albums (like the beautiful "Sign Of The Cross" and the already mentioned "The Clansman"). In short, to make it brief, a fantastic live performance of the Maiden, a double DVD where the first contains the concert and the second DVD has the Maiden engaged in their hobbies: a bible for those who want to know Iron Maiden but also an essential double DVD in every Iron fan’s video library. Get it!!
A breathtaking setlist where only 'Running Free' and some of 'Somewhere In Time' are missing.
'Fear of The Dark' is the pivotal moment of the entire album, the crowd of spectators joins in a breathtaking chorus that replaces the Maiden themselves.
"'WRATHCHILD!!!' The apotheosis. The first classic of the evening is played divinely, without flaws, more powerful than ever."
"Bruce may not have the voice of his golden years, but he is great as always... The only real shortcomings are the audio and some missing classic songs."
