THE REVIEW

The debut on Napalm Records by the Danish band Iron Fire will certainly not disappoint the expectations of the large number of fans of the most classic power metal. Twelve songs (the limited edition digipack will include two bonus tracks not present on this promo cardboard) that flow pleasantly through the player, between maiden-esque gallops ("Ironhead", "Brotherhood Of The Brave" seem to be true tributes to Steve Harris' band) and daring guitar solos.

No technical drop or imprecision, the band's chemistry is practically perfect even if genre purists may object to the presence of a singer who is not purely metal (screaming vocals are rare in favor of a voice that greatly resembles Europe, especially in the use of chorus).

If the Nordic quintet on "Metal Messiah" and "Stand As King" flirts with thrash, for almost all the other songs it draws heavily close to what Helloween have already said and said plenty of, and ventures into engaging ballads like "Icecold Arion" without ever losing sight of their own sound signature. Lovers of happy atmospheres and robust power metal will certainly make it their own.
