Inveracity is a Brutal Death Metal band from Greece, and what I'm telling you about is their brand-new full-length called Extermination Of Millions. The band has another full-length under their belt that honestly didn't excite me too much, but from the get-go, you could sense that this band has a lot of potential. The four Greeks offer us a classic-style Brutal Death, undoubtedly influenced by the absolute masters of the genre, Suffocation.
The CD consists of 11 not very long songs, all based on the speed and power of the riffs. The production, branded by Unique Leader Records, has improved significantly compared to the previous album, giving us a cleaner and more compact sound. The bassist's work is truly excellent, showing great technique with a rich instrument sound, engaging in short but intense breaks. The guitars feature a scratching and complex riffing, as taught by the school of Brutal Death, with extensive use of harmonics and the alternation between slow, then fast and buzzing riffs. The drummer does an excellent job behind the skins, and aside from perfectly handling the fairly complicated rhythms of the album, he offers us various spectacular snare, cymbal, and double bass drum breaks. The vocalist has a deep voice, a growl very similar to that of Frank Mullen from Suffocation, which perfectly matches the music presented. Perhaps the only missing link in the album is the lyrics, which I found a bit too ridiculous and, if the term can be used, not very refined, more similar to the ridiculous lyrics of Cannibal Corpse and Severe Torture compared to Suffocation or Deeds Of Flesh, although there is an improvement compared to the truly ridiculous lyrics of the previous album.
Inveracity is definitely a band to listen to, and in the future, they might release albums even better than this one. Give Brutal a chance.
