THE REVIEW

The wave of summer death metal continues here on Debaser!

Today I propose a little gem of the genre: the demo “The Final Chapter” by Interment, one of the many flagship bands of Swedish death metal, here in its most evolved form, rich with groove and tending towards death’n’roll, which was born thanks to Entombed.

Four songs that follow the same stylistic coordinates as “Clandestine,” so not too raw and old school but with a deadly groove and above all, recorded excellently and with great professionalism. Dan Swanö’s work behind the console should be praised, pulling out of the hat a perfect sound, abrasive enough but not chaotic, a sound typical of those years (we're in '94) when the genre was at its peak.

The potential of the group is remarkable, personality emerges even without playing anything new, and the regret that their full-length debut album only came in 2010 is significant; it’s not nice to arrive at a party the day after when only the trash is left to take out. The group indeed disbanded after the first three demos (this is the third) before reforming with the usual reunion, in the meantime crossing its history with that of another band, Centinex, with musicians moving from one lineup to another like in a soap opera.

The fact remains that these four songs really rock, in short, they should be passed on to posterity, to convert everyone to metal! UAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
