THE REVIEW

Sets of small factors have constantly kept this album in the shadows since its release. An album that appeared almost out of nowhere and has never attracted much interest from the Italian audience except for the true thrash metal enthusiasts willing to sell their souls just to hear some worthy new releases.

Some believed that "Wait And Pray" was just a reissue of a U.S. band from the fantastic eighties, overlooked due to the intense competition from the big Bay Area groups. However, after careful analysis, this album not only was released in 2004 but is also played by our own Italian guys, specifically from the Marche region.

Inevitably, their horrific cover had a negative effect among metal listeners; furthermore, Insane themselves have performed more abroad than in their beloved homeland, to tell the truth, even their label was German. What this album contains are pure Thrash metal tracks played without much finesse, the sound is raw and scratchy, eight songs that barely reach thirty minutes of total duration.
Out-of-scale solos, blasphemous themes, and outfits made of leather and studs, make "Wait And Pray" an album that closely resembles "Show No Mercy" by the masterful Slayer, except for some small parts with pure Hardcore-Punk references.

This album can be a pleasant surprise for the nostalgic fans of 80s metal but a true disaster for metalheads with more modern tastes.

Insane's 'Wait And Pray' is a raw and gritty 2004 thrash metal album from Italy, heavily influenced by 80s Bay Area thrash like Slayer, blending hardcore punk elements. Despite its obscure status and harsh cover art, it appeals strongly to thrash purists and fans of nostalgic metal sounds. The album runs under 30 minutes with intense riffs and solos, though its rough production and style may not suit contemporary metal listeners. It remains an underrated gem primarily appreciated by true thrash enthusiasts.
